Description
CUCUMBER Seeds - Assorted 3 Packs (A) - 30 Seeds
3 Varieties, 3 Separate packets with sowing instructions
This is a great value purchase of multiple POPULAR Heirloom Cucumber varieties.
You will receive 10-15 seeds of each of the following types in separate packs along with prorogation notes.
1. Cucumber ARMENIAN (10 Seeds) (V-401): Heirloom. High yields of unusual, mild-tasting cukes turn yellow when ripe. Great for slicing and pickling. These are also known as yard-long cucumbers or snake melons. Related to muskmelon, the cucumbers have a cantaloupe-like aroma when sliced. Although they grow up to a couple of feet long, they are best harvested 25-30cm long. The fruit will grow straighter if grown on a trellis.
2. Cucumber LEBANESE (BEIT-ALPHA) (10 Seeds) (Heirloom, NON-GMO, Treated) (V-403): LEBANESE CUCUMBER (Beit Alpha) is 55 days till maturity cucumber. This plant produces an abundance of 20-30 cm (10-12") long cucumbers that have thin skin that does not require peeling. This stores very well and is excellent for packing just to munch on. It grows equally well on the ground or a trellis. Has a crisp and sweet flavour produced well under almost any conditions? Ideal cucumber for cooking and pickling, and slicing raw. They have a blocky shape, good flavour with a mild taste.
3.Cucumber MUNCHERS BURPLESS (10 Seeds) (V-421): 60 days to maturity. Very tender, dual-purpose variety makes great pickles and is excellent for fresh eating right out of the garden! Nearly spineless fruits are 6 to 8 inches long, reaching a plump 3 inches wide. For pickling, harvest the fruits at 4 to 6 inches long. Produces abundantly on strong, vigorous vines. Non-bitter, burpless variety can be eaten at any stage of growth.
Important Note
Cucumber LEBANESE seeds are treated with a fungicide (Thiram), DO NOT eat the seeds or feed them to animals. Keep them away from children & animals. Wear gloves and thoroughly wash skin with water & soap after touching the seeds. Treated seeds do not affect your crops or harm insects such as bees. These treated seeds are strictly for propagation or growing in the garden only. THE RESULTANT CROP IS EDIBLE.
Fungicide seed treatment may be an AQIS (Biosecurity, Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment, Government of Australia) requirement for certain seeds varieties. Treated seeds may be dyed a distinct colour. Read the label on the seed packet before usage.
Care and Growing Instructions
Cucumber requires warm, well-drained soil high in fertility, with a pH of 6–6.8. Consistent, adequate irrigation is needed to produce an abundant crop. Cucumbers are very sensitive to cold. Make sure both soil and air temperatures have warmed before planting. Using plastic mulch and row covers will significantly enhance cucumbers' vigour and potential yields by providing warmth and insect protection.
In frost areas, sow undercover in seed trays in early spring. Plant out after last frosts. Sow indoors in 16-cell plug trays about 5-6mm deep, 1–2 seeds/cell, 3–4 weeks before transplanting. Keep the temperature above 21°C days and 16°C at night with a heating pad underneath plug trays. Transplant 30cm apart. Do not disturb roots when transplanting.
In frost-free areas, sow directly into the soil in early spring. However, wait until the soil is warm, at least 21°C. Cucumber seeds will not germinate at a soil temperature below 14°C. Sow two seeds per 30cm.
Spacing
Single Plants: 60cm each way (minimum)
Rows: 60cm with 60cm row gap (minimum)
Support plants well to climb upwards, even when the cucumbers get large. This also protects the cucumbers from slugs. Occasionally a plant can produce very bitter cucumbers, so always try a bit before serving others!
When flowers start forming, feed with a slow-release potassium-rich organic fertilizer. Fortnightly liquid feed from mid-summer.
Once fruit bearing begins, pick daily. Cut the cucumbers off the plant when they are still relatively young; otherwise, the skin becomes hard and will need peeling. More cucumbers will then be produced.
Propagation notes will be supplied with a seed packet.

Western Australia Customers: We can ship most seed line items, except Quarantine WA restricted seed lines to WA. Due to quarantine restrictions in WA, there is a 10kg seeds limit per variety. WA orders require additional handling time. Please remain within an approved limit when ordering seeds. We review every WA order before dispatch and remove (or reduce) excess seed quantity from your order to comply with WA biosecurity regulations. Please check further information here
Tasmania Customers: We can ship seeds to Tasmania. Please do not include seed line items labeled 'NOT to TAS'. Please note that the maximum allowable limit per permitted seed line item is 1kg per order.
